First Boston is quietly selling futures here, 30 at a clip. I'm also hearing we'll stay bid for the erst of the day. Who knows for sure. My suggestion is taking any short options off your books for a nickel if they are anywhere near strike. that 5 bucks isn't worth it.

Market is totally devoid of paper right now. Last 30 minutes have ben consumed with:
1) finding NY-style pizza in Chicago, a formidable, if not impossible task. and,
2) getting the most NY-looking pizza place to deliver 2 miles outside of their delivery zone.
Anybody watching anything? I'm picking up cheap puts inthe brokers for a late day collapse, but have already resigned myself to the fact that they are probably worthless...

Some analyst saying that the US economy is going to collapse, and the rest of the world is going to have much stronger economies...at the same time. Only half of that statement can be true - CNBC guy just called him on it.

Hard to say. I am definitely looking for some super cheap puts to pick up here - even in august, if we're less than 2% from strike and I can get em for a nickel, I'm buyin. Also, stocks taht are trading down right njow I may get short as any downturn will crush.

Good morning campers. Discount rate cut 50 basis points, and away we go. INtereseting that they did it now, after the 10% correction - either they wanted to let the brokers take some pain, or things are worse than we thought.
Mortgage/S&L: CFC +19%, IMH +19%, FMT +17%, NFI +16%, DFC +14%, IMB +14%, LEND +12%, WM +6.8%, FED +5%, CCRT +4.4%, FNM +2.1%, HBC +1.8%.... Mortgage Insurance: RDN +8.5% MTG +7.2%, GNW +1%; Mortgage REITs: LUM +50%, TMA +24%, IMH +19%, NFI +16%, RAS +15%, DFC +14%, AFN +12%, RWT +4.9%, NCT +4.4%, NLY +3.3%, SFI +2.5%.
